Pandemic 2020

Everyone has a story to share, everyone has a loss somewhere in the associations, friendships, and relationships past and present that Covid 19 has created. This is now a new normal, the everpresent threat of a microscopic virus powerful enough to spread like wildfire and leave human tragedy in its wake. This tragedy takes on the faces of its victims. But, it does not end there. Risk of contraction of this virus lingers. Even as stay at home orders are relaxed and removed, risk remains. For the next bit of human history, life as we once lived it is changed. It is an evolving story of how to manage the risk this novel virus presents as well as discovering a safe new normal. We will all have an individual as well as a collective part to play in how we shape our future safely. Are we up to the challenge? I hope so. I believe so.

Let’s not wait for a second or a third or a fourth wave of contagion before we realize that all hands must be on deck for this one. No one is excused from participating. No one. But, human nature is human nature. And sadly, natural consequences will be our teacher still.
