Welcome to My Seed Projects

“Welcome, welcome, welcome.  Come in, come in.” I hope that resonates with you the way it resonates with me.  Bilbo excitedly ushering Gandoff  into his hobbit home knowing in advance that another grand adventure lay in front of him.  Soon he would be off to visit the Elves and write his memoirs.

Well, I welcome you the same way.  My Seed Projects is a labor filled with many things. You are at the door and there is much to share.  Take what works for you, share it with those you love and or those that you know can benefit from what is offered here.

That is mostly what I will try to convey, my seed projects.  They have grown and continue to grow daily.

Today, my seed project is directed to all those who suffer daily with heart burn and acid reflux.

Let me tell you a bit about myself so you understand how important this topic is for me.  I am living my 60th year.  For those who count in the more conventional manner, I am 59.  Having gotten that out of the way, my age, I mean, I am sure 90 percent of my growing audience has just dropped off the post.  Visit again soon. There may yet be something of value for you here.

But now, back on task. For the greater amount of those years, 50+, more like 55+, I have suffered with heart burn and acid reflux.  The reasons, as I have found out over the course of time seem complex. First, I have a hiatal hernia.

Simply put, “part of the stomach pushes into the chest cavity. It enters via an opening where the food tube (esophagus) passes on its way to the stomach.

Hiatal hernia can have no symptoms.  In some cases, they may be associated with heartburn and abdominal discomfort.

Hiatal hernias may not require any treatment.  Some are treated with drugs and a few types need surgical repair.”  Mayo ClinicConsult your PCP or sources like The Mayo Clinic for your situation.

A quick Google search of the term “hiatal hernia” suggests that 636,000 individuals are searching for more information.  This post is for you.

Finally, in these later years, I am experiencing relief.  This is the my seed project.  And I want to share it with you.

Let me express honestly, I have attempted to manage my condition all of these years on my own.  Trial by error, you may call it.  I suppose I am just an explorer.  I choose to try to get to the root of what makes up my life, so have not been completely dependent on the medical community.

Instead, I have spent many years educating myself on ways to address my hiatal hernia.  These are my findings and I pass them on to you in the hope you will adventure to your own resolution.  You, may have noticed, I did not say solution, though what I experience now may be my best solution, for me.

My trial and error, led me many places. One notable one, has been the book, Eat 4 Your Type, The Individualized, by Peter J. D’Adamo and Catherine Whitney.  Published in 1996, I first purchased my own copy in 2000.  I learned a lot from it back then.

Namely, that my A Positive blood type has limitations.  Among those limitations is a weak digestive system.  One that does not produce digestive acids to properly break down the food I eat.  End result, especially with a hiatal hernia as well, heart burn and acid reflux. Plenty of it.

Long story short, that book got boxed and put into storage, until a recent regathering of my personal belongings from separation and divorce.

So, I reacquainted myself with Peter J. D’Adamo and Catherine Whitney.  My digestive system at this point, only months ago now was in distress.  Even with probiotics on a regular basis for intestinal health, my stomach was a mess.  I could not have an empty stomach with pain and ache that I had never experienced before.

For Blood Type A, D’Adamo and Whitney, suggest fresh squeezed lemon juice in water as the first intake of food each day.  So, I started anew, hoping I could regain some form of digestive balance.  With  juice from one whole lemon in water each new day, I began to experience change.  But there’s more to the suggestions from Peter and Catherine.

I once again took a critical look at my diet.  With the knowledge that my Blood Type A digestive system does not tolerate difficult to digest foods, I went back to a menu drawing board.

But first, I must digress for a moment,  In 2009, still struggling with heart burn and acid reflux, I flipped my diet over night and became vegetarian.  Though I was not consulting D’Adamo and Whitney at this point, a vegetarian diet seemed like a good next step.  Additionally, at this time I, I began a Yoga practice.

Mostly, a chicken and fish diet before 2009, but still heart burn and acid reflux. And, as important, the hiatal hernia, created a situation where stomach acids constantly back flushed into my esophagus.

In the years between then and now, the vegetarian diet helped but did not solve my digestive problems.  With the book, Eat 4 Your Type, now in storage, I lost track of the helpful hints I use today.

The menu drawing board, included lemon water as first food intake of the day, then for two meals of my day, steamed rice and steamed vegetables, as suggested in Eat 4 Your Type, The Individualized.  Boring you say.  Yeah, it can get boring.

But in my world, a lit bit of boring is much better than any acid reflux or heart burn.

The great news here is that my digestive system seems better.  My menu is simple.

  1.  I eat less.  That puts less taxation on the digestive system to break it all down.
  2. During the week while on the job, I eat two small meals of steamed white rice and a variety of steamed vegetables with Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar and Bertolli Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Salt and Pepper added to taste.
  3. In January 2016 I found and am now using 3 distributor based Rain International products.  These I have made my replacement breakfast meal, along with lemon water first thing and Chai Tea, sweetened with Stevia.  I am actually losing weight with this menu.
  4. I supplement on occasion, but not often protein bars and the assorted bag of junk food.  It’s me. It’s real.

If you find yourself interested in the replacement meal distributor products, check out this site, http://www.myrainlife.com/seedvitality

Just know this. I use these products as meal replacement.  The weight loss I am experiencing is an added bonus. They are not sold or marketed in this fashion.

That’s my seed project for today.

I just try to make the best of the time I am given,

Best wishes for your adventure.

Soon, more digestive discoveries. Same story, overlapping chapters.
